Some Effective Solutions for Managing Stress

By: Ken Snowie

It is important to realize the not all stress is bad for you. Some stress can make life interesting, and it can push you to achieve your goals. Because we cannot escape every commitment, instead of trying to eliminate stress from our lives completely, it is important to learn to control stress.

Every person has a different type of level of stress in his or her life. Therefore, there is no one solution for dealing with stress. For example, a person who flourishes on constant change would suffer from tremendous boredom and stress in a job that is dull, while an individual that avoids change would be filled with anxiety and stress in a really dynamic position.

It is believed that a lot of illnesses are immediately tied to stress. If you find that you are always sick or fatigued, or that you are always nervous, it is time to learn to cope with your stress. Stress management takes patience and practice. If you persist at it, you will master the art of effectively dealing with stress.

First figure out what main things cause your stress. Is it your morning commute? Preparing for a public speaking engagement at work? Dealing with your kids after school? Most of these things are unavoidable, but still manageable. If your morning commute stresses you out, try leaving for work a few minutes earlier. If public speaking horrifies you, try consulting a psychologist to help you deal with your fears. If your kids drive you crazy, arrange organized activities that you can all enjoy together. It is important to understand what causes you stress, and think of ways that you can deal with them.

It is then important to try to reduce your emotional reactions to your stressful situations. Stress can cause negative thoughts, and you will act accordingly. It might be better to try to think of stress as an opportunity for self-improvement. If you overreact to every situation, step back and assess each time you lash out, and think of ways to calmly cope. You might not be able to do anything about your stressors, but you can control how you react to them

Also note your physical reactions to stress. Try to start deep breathing techniques in order to lower your heart rate. If your physical reactions to stress are severe, seek medical attention to avoid hypertension or heart problems. Sometimes the best way to avoid stress is by taking a time out in order to regroup and refresh.

Another positive way to combat stress is to exercise. Try aerobic exercise and strength training. Those are powerful outlets for stress. Eat a healthy, well-balanced diet, and avoid a lot of caffeine. Try to get a full night's sleep every night as well. Following these simple strategies will help you to cope with stress more than you know.

Stress is part of life. You cannot avoid it. But, by engaging in effective management techniques, you can effectively deal with stress and become a stronger person for it.

Unlocking the Myth of Hypnotic Communication

By: Don L. Price

Unquestionably when the word hypnosis pops-up in a conversation or in the mainstream press, nostrils flair, minds conjure up strong reactions of parlor tricks and pictures of late night scary movies where starry-eyed maidens are seduced to carry out satanic acts.

Here we are, in modern times, where we have set foot on the moon, (ops – better watch my words – there are people who still think the earth is flat) broke the sound barrier, communicate wireless with the most modern technology and still people see hypnosis has a hoax. Even the well educated are not off the hook from such lack of knowledge and ignorant responses.

Altered states and trance experiences have been around long before the word hypnosis. What is unique about hypnotic communications is that it's truly magical and at the same time clearly explainable and understandable.

Regardless, of the mystique surrounding hypnotic communication, there is no hocus-pocus involved, and the only tool you will need is your MIND. Sound too easy?

Follow along and prepare yourself to be amazed - both by the power of your mind to shape who you can become, and by the power you have to guide it.

First, Lets' remove a couple of old misconceptions that you're supposed to talk in a monotone when you do hypnosis and that you are under control of someone's power.

A more accurate way to channel the thought that others can control us would be to restate that hypnosis is powerful communication to influence others as well as the self.

That is clearly evident in advertising communications – persuasive salespeople, politicians, religious leaders, and business leaders just to name a few. The hypnotist may take you into an altered state by using a monotone voice for getting a particular outcome or result. Similarly, a more animated approach, just like a glib politician, can wow you into the same altered state through their mesmerizing performance.

And, as for the self – we are masters at entering altered states many times a day – programming with hypnotic communications for what we can't do rather than what we can do. (Just listen and catch yourself every time you say "I can't", "No", or "That was Stupid")

Parents are excellent at using hypnotic communications for getting an unwanted response from a child – Don't spill your milk! – Turn your back and the next thing you hear is the child's glass of milk falling on the floor.

If I tell you "don't get to excited about my free no obligation gift offer at end of this article -- Or, if I say, "I don't want you to worry about what happens after reading this article". You and the child are stuck with trying to understand what was just said. Unsuspectingly, an unwanted behavior occurs in the child -- spilling the milk -- and you, the reader, somehow wanting to understand what "don't want you to worry" means, will momentarily fall into an altered state conjuring up in your mind all kinds of possibilities.

Hypnotic communications is a very natural process that we all do all the time -- some have just learned to do it more eloquently for positive outcomes and others sabotage themselves. It's a skill that you can develop to be a very powerful communicator for changing yourself and influencing others.

The challenge that people have is they don't recognize, understand or notice the natural flow of hypnotic communication. And, therefore is very transparent and goes undetected by the incomprehensible person.

Here is an everyday example: Put yourself in this scene – you're driving down a freeway or highway and surprisingly you pass an intended off-ramp or street that you were going to exit onto. For a split second you may have been startled upon discovering that you passed the exit and said something like – "dam" or "stupid me" how did I miss that?

Unknowingly you were experiencing hypnotic communications with yourself – an altered state of consciousness - focused in a hyper state of awareness in your subconscious mind on something other than paying attention to your driving – daydreaming as some would describe it.

Watch out for the pink elephant behind you. – Got you! – for a split second did you visualize a pink elephant? Now I can just hear the skeptics saying, this hypnosis stuff doesn't work. Clearly it works! And, it has programmed you into the person you are today.

Habits of behavior are learned through hypnotic communications and work specifically for changing any unwanted behaviors in life. You can learn to eliminate habits of behavior that would enable you to stop smoking, eliminate weight, overcome fears, and to create new habits of behavior for greater success in life.

The mind is much more malleable than we thought and marketers are learning to understand and capitalize on what influences consumers unconscious minds as much as their conscious minds do.

Learning hypnotic communications through self-hypnosis will clearly help guard your mind against self-sabotaging acts and bring strength and awareness of external influence. And, you will experience harmonious balance and control in your life.

What is Time Management?

By: Ken Snowie

Because each of us is unique and different, we have to find out what works best for us in our own ways. This path to this starts with the basics in our own time management. Basic time management is setting up goals and plans that are reachable.

When setting goals for ourselves we should ask…"Is this goal reachable? Can I achieve this goal? What do I do to make this goal successful? Asking yourself the right questions is one basic element of developing a time management routine that works for you. Another basic element in time management is asking for help. That is a plan that helps to lead you to success.

We can't know everything, or do everything, so sometimes you have to ask for help. When you are asking questions, you are letting others know that you are seeking a solution to a problem, or attempting to reach a goal that you have set. By asking yourself and other questions, you are relying on your own fortitude, and trusting others.

In time management, the best way to get something done is by keeping it simple. Simple means to put a plan in motion that will work smoothly and effectively that will allow you to reach the goal you have set.

When setting goals, you should scrutinize carefully which strategies might work most effectively to reach that goal. You will want a plan that is logical and uncomplicated, but that takes into account that there might be setbacks along the way. Since no plan is perfect, keep in mind when you are creating a plan for time management that things could go wrong, so that you are not thrown off when there is a crisis.

Life is too short to waste time on not getting the job done, and time is money. Learning how to manage your time effectively will help you to reach all of your goals. Everything is at the mercy of time. There is no getting around it. Learning how to manage what we can control is the best way to achieve goals with less stress.

You are the master of your destiny

By: ckriswa

Every thought of a human being is transformed as picture in everybody's mind.

The picture transformed into your mind will be depending upon your thought. If your thought is about success, the picture transformed into your mind, will be as if you are getting success.

If your thought is failure, then the picture transformed into your mind will be as if you are getting failure.

Never think or doubt, when you begin with something that it will end in failure. If you think so, then that thought or doubt will be transformed as a 'failure' picture in your mind and your sub-conscious mind will direct your action according to that 'failure picture', which naturally your action will end in failure.

On the other hand, if you think on the other side, the thing will end in success, your thought will be transformed into the picture of success, and automatically your subconscious mind will direct the result to end in success. It is the secret of nature.

Because you can yield only what you plant.

Planting of paddy yield only paddy and not wheat.

Planting of success in your mind only yield success and not failure.

Thoughts, picture, and action all have close interaction with each other. They cannot differ and distract at anytime.

For example, if you want to have your own house, think deeply about your dream house as if you have purchased a beautiful house.

Naturally your dream house will be transformed into as a picture in your mind. Your sub-conscious mind will direct you to convert that dream house into a real house. It will create circumstances and opportunities for you to convert that dream house into a real house out of your own resources.

One single thought leads to many thoughts. If you want to be rich you should constantly think of having huge money. That one thought leads to many thoughts like huge bank balance, having beautiful house, variety of cars, beautiful ornaments, all modern amenities, huge play ground, beautiful swimming pool in your house, and still many more thoughts.

Such a positive single thought is having a power to create so many positive thoughts.

Similarly it is not wonder that one single negative thought will also create so many negative thoughts.

So negative thoughts are also having equal power like positive thoughts power.

You cannot underestimate the power of negative thoughts.

Always think good, think positively.

Never let your mind to think negatively and practice to think positively, then every thing will happen in favor of you.

Increasing Self-Confidence and Problem Solving

By: Don L. Price

Oddly enough, for many, there is rarely a day that goes by where we procrastinate making a decision because we experience a lack of self-confidence or feelings of self-doubt.

The standards set, while growing up into adulthood, had most of us depending on others - parents, teachers, and relatives - for direction and guidance that set up our self-image and levels of confidence. Unfortunately, during that period of time, we experienced more no's than yes's. As a result we either rebelled or we succumb to the expectations of others - looking to them for approval -- embedding in us expectation levels of perfectionism and shaping our self-image.

As adults, to function in a competitive world, requires that we be less dependent on looking to others for approval. The drive to win approval, through perfection, sets in motion negative procrastination and a stressful existence. When we drop the notion that we must live up to others expectation of being perfect, we then begin to build our inner strength of self-confidence.

When we overcome the lack of self-confidence and feelings of self-doubt, then problem solving and decision making, becomes second nature to us. True self-confidence comes about by understanding our abilities, strengths and having the willingness to change what we choose.

"Change" is a word that runs the gambit of drudging up feelings from anger, bitterness, hopelessness and pain to happiness, relief and pleasure.

However, bringing everything into consideration, you and me and everyone else on this planet is in the problem solving business - and to be effective in delivering problem solving solutions we need, a well developed, self-confidence. Therefore let me say that living in an economy based on innovation -- an economy in which you can win big simply by out thinking the competition -- self-confidence and decision making is paramount to success.

Now, let me give you an exemplary example of someone who embodies such characteristic traits of self-confidence and problem solving.

Frederick W. Smith, Chairman, President, and CEO, FedEx Corporation; describes his creation of a central clearinghouse, along with a hub-and-spoke system of dissemination, enabled FedEx to deliver, point-to-point, anywhere in the United States -- absolutely, positively overnight. Smith said: "We thought that we were selling the transportation of goods; in fact, we were selling peace of mind." - Fred Smith's focus and self-confidence was a force in his innovation and problem solving solutions.

Here are several methods for increasing your self-confidence and problem solving abilities according to Brian M. Alman and Peter Lambrou, Ph.D.'s

** First, identify which area of your life spawns the most self-doubt, the least self-confidence. - Your work, people of the opposite sex, parents, a boss, spouse, etc.

** Second, select which area you want to work on first. Set reasonable objectives and focus on one specific circumstance in which you feel self-doubt.

** Third, go into a state of quiet relaxation to do some inner examination, some self-exploration. Imagine an old situation with someone whose approval you sought, but now imagine a new actions stemming from your perceptions of self-confident behavior.

** Forth, where you had self-doubt, now see yourself with self-confidence giving yourself positive self-suggestion to reinforce the change you want to accomplish.

The Fundamentals of Time Management

By: Ken Snowie

There are many fundamentals in life, things that we need to make our lives work well for us. Time management is one of those fundamentals. Without it, it is difficult to get anything done, or have time to enjoy anything in life. There are also no guarantees in life. It's nearly impossible to know exactly what will happen tomorrow, we can only plan to a certain extent. Planning is an essential element in time management; still plans have the ability to change. This is why prioritizing the things you need to accomplish is important, and completing what you can in a manageable time frame crucial. Finishing one task paves the way to completing the next one. You can begin by taking notes and making lists, in order to sort through your tasks to be completed.

Dealing with Emails at Work for Time Management

IF your job requires you to do a lot of your business through email and the Internet, then you know how excessive emails can get. There are certain messages, such as customer contacts, contracts, and other important communication that you need to retain, and a convenient way to get this stuff done is through email. Where you get in trouble is through spam, or junk email. This can be avoided by not using your work email address for personal communications or Web surfing. Be sure to organize your email inbox using folders, in order to prioritize your various types of messages, and for quick reference. And back up any information you want to keep for the long term, and delete messages you no longer need. Many companies have a managing program that works to save time. Databases often store valuable information, and should be maintained. If you store information on the database, be sure to delete or store old files in a different area, so you can save time.

Taking Notes

Taking notes is a fundamental part of making time management work. But the notes should be short and direct, and not require too much of their own organization! Having good notes helps us to stay organized and on task, especially if you attend a lot of meetings. You can stay ahead of the game if you take notes before and after the meeting, and you will always be able to convey your ideas to co-workers.

The fundamentals of time management help prepare you for the demands of work, as well as every other aspect of your personal life.

Life Plan to Discover Your Destiny

Life Plan to Discover Your Destiny

By: TK Edwards

What is a Life Plan?

There are many different answers, many different definitions. Basically, it is a plan to get from where you are now to where you want to be at some point in the future. Most people immediately think of money, I'm making x dollars now, five years from now I want to be making double XX amount of dollars. While the financial portion of a life plan is a part of it, it is not the only part. As said so many times before, "money is not going to buy you happiness". A Life Plan should take into account your family, friends, where you want to be living, really what do you want to be doing at this point in the future.

That last line is the key. Ask yourself, what do I want to be doing five years from now. If you already know the answer to that question then your plan is easy. Break it down into the steps you need to get there. Then break those steps down into the finest detail, a daily detail if possible and you will reach your goal.

The problem that most of us have is answering that question. I want to be rich, is not going to get you there. I want to be laying on a beach soaking up the sun. That's a little better, if that is truly your goal. There is beach front property available in places like Belize. You could buy a house, rent out half of it, and spend your days soaking up the sun.
Actually that sounds pretty good, so if you do the research and it works out, let me know.

Many people don't have a life plan because they can't answer that question. They don't have a clear idea of what they want to do. Well, life is going to happen whether you plan for it or not. Life will be there in the mirror every morning and five, ten, twenty years from now without some kind of plan, you could still be looking in the same mirror wondering what happened.

OK, so what do you want to be doing five years from now? It doesn't matter how you answer. Just plug in anything close to something you enjoy or might enjoy. That answer is only a beginning, and is sure to change. As you start working toward it, you can branch off into other areas that you discover. A life plan is not a test, you can't fail. Some goals that you set may never be reached, but they will lead to other goals.

Does that give us a new definition for a life plan? A Life Plan should be not only a plan to get from where you are, to where you want to be, but a totally flexible journey of discovery. Not to just achieve a goal, but to help determine what that goal may be.
